2012-12-21 World End?

As circulated in the internet, there are few stories about 2012-12-21. Some says the world will end, Mayan calender end on that day, some planet will crush with earth, the sun will disappear for 3 days, it will be extremely cold or hot for few days, all planet will be align in a straight line and something bad will happen, and etc.

So, recently NASA launch a video, in respond for all these 2012-12-21. According to them, all the stories on internet is actually not accurate. In the video, they gave quite a lot reason why the world do not end on 2012-12-21. So, what do you think?

One of my 5 years old nephew is recently having his holiday in my house. So, I've decided to get one of the Ferrari for him (he likes cars). I fill up my car at Shell station, RM40++, and get a Ferrari F1 model for RM12.90.

Huawei Honor, RM700, a good deal?

I just ordered/purchased a Huawei Honor U8860 (black colour) last few days, and it should arrived by poslaju today. I bought it from a lowyat forumer (2nd hand unit) for RM700 including postage to Johor. The specs for the phone: http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_u8860_honor-4197.php

It is an average phone, not too expensive, standard specs, and the advantages of this phone in this price range are the 8MP camera, big capacity battery 1930mAH, it support Android ICS update, and the most important one for me, it support MIUI ICS version.

I never try this phone, tried to search from local phone store, but since it is not a popular phone, none of them sell this phone. Will update this post after I receive the phone.

Very Nice Wedding Gift

Recently received a very nice wedding gift from my sister and brother in law. I previously thought that this is the lens I ordered from ebay.

But it comes out an Apple logo, and I start to feel weird. (They pack it in very nice box, with the red ribbon).

Hot Weather, I Purchased an Air Cooler

My location is at Kuching, and the weather recently is very hot.

Browsing through some portable air conditioner and air cooler, and I finally purchased an Morgan MAC-COOL1 for RM250.

NEX 5: First non-stock Lens (Konica Hexanon AR 50mm F1.7)

I just received my first non-stock lens for my NEX-5, Konica Hexanon AR 50mm F1.7, that I buy from ebay.com.

I use Fotga Konica-NEX adaptor to attach the lens to my NEX 5.

The voters’ roll for the upcoming 13th general election certainly cannot be used anymore due to the following reasons:

• Some 240,000 Election Commission (EC) workers will be voting in advance and they will not be marked with indelible ink;
• Cloning of voters’ names;
• Double-registration of voters’ names;
• No deaths recorded for Sabak Bernam, Sungai Besar, Hulu Selangor and Tanjung Karang but a check with the National Registration Department shows otherwise;
• Selangor alone has 300,000 dubious voters, Perak has over 50,000, Penang over 35,000, even the remote parliamentary seat of Tumpat in Kelantan currently held by PAS’ Kamaruddin Jaffar has over 10,000 dubious voters and all these cases are just the ones detected. What about those undetected?
• More than 1,000 voters over the age of 100 with one voter aged 153;
• Voters with suspicious and nonsensical names like “Kampung Baru” and “Balai Polis Kerinchi”, located in the parliamentary seats of Titiwangsa (PAS) and Lembah Pantai (PKR).

Besides the above reasons, one of the recent amendments to the Election Offences Act 1954 (Amendment 2012), which were bulldozed through in Parliament on April 19, states that party representatives are not allowed to check the voter rolls together with the EC representatives. This will certainly enable EC to do all sorts of hanky-panky and dirty work with the voter rolls.

Certainly, the EC cannot be trusted to run a clean and fair election. The Bersih 3.0 sit-in on April 28 is a call to the government to run a clean and fair election, but if the government still ignores the demands of the rakyat, then the government is certainly against the rakyat.

NEX 5: focus on very near object using 16mm F2.8

I am very new to NEX 5, and I found that the pancake lens (16mm F/2.8) cannot focus on very near object (capturing big size image of a small object), the nearest focus point of the lens is around 13-15cm from the lens. While playing with the NEX 5, I found out a method to capture very near object (small object) using the pancake lens. 

The first step is to set the largest aperture on the lens, F2.8, and remove the lens from the camera. This step is to make sure that the aperture on the lens is at the F2.8 after it is removed. Then, align the lens in between the camera and the object. Something like shown in these images:

Great Deal for Sony NEX-5D

I just bought a Sony NEX-5D/B camera from SenQ at Jusco Bukit Indah (Johor). As the title it is a great deal, that the unit I bought is a display set, and the price is only RM1749 after member's discount. This camera is always in my wish list since it was launched few years back.

SenQ do accept Maybank Reward point redemption, that you can get RM1 for every 200 Maybank Reward point. I have being collecting the reward point all this while for this camera, and I am really lucky to come to this offer/opportunities in SenQ. I exchange all my Maybank Reward point, and on top of that, I top up around RM600++ to get this camera. It is really a very great deal for me!

In the box, I get the body of the camera plus 2 lenses, one 16mm lens and one 18-55mm zoom lens. It also include one battery, charger, usb cable, a nice bag, and also 2GB sd card (sponsored by the sales person). Everything is in very good condition, and it doesn't look anything like a "display set". The sales person told me that it is only being "displayed" in the glass cabinet, and not the one that is being tested by every customer.

The whole email is a single image file that contains a letter, the contain is quite interesting, but I am quite sure it is a SCAM.
